This was an amazing show. The best thing I can think of to sum up what I feel right now is EUPHORIA. I actually had tears rolling down my face during Closer and then followed by Before You Were Young and Turn just laid me out in such a good way! I honestly had the most fantastic evening. My son and I were able to meet every member of the band. The guys were so kind. What a treat to be standing right next to the stage. It was really all surreal, like a dream.
There was one change to the typed set list. They added the Big Star cover right between I Kissed A Girl and Flowers In The Window. Nice to get that extra treat!
Here was tonight's set list:
1. CHINESE BLUES
2. J. SMITH
3. SOMETHING ANYTHING
4. WRITING TO REACH YOU
5. LONG WAY DOWN
7. LOVE WILL COME THROUGH
8. AS YOU ARE
10. SONG TO SELF
13. FALLING DOWN
14. ALL I WANT TO DO IS ROCK
15. GOOD FEELING
17. BEFORE YOU WERE YOUNG
19. I KISSED A GIRL (Katy Perry cover)
20. THIRTEEN (Big Star cover)
21. FLOWERS IN THE WINDOW
22. SELFISH JEAN
23. WHY DOES IT ALWAYS RAIN ON ME?
There were so many great moments, Fran going out into the crowd for Falling Down and his lovely voice in general, Andy climbing up the railing and all around shredding, Dougie laughing and strumming Fran's guitar with the whole band out front on the stage during Flowers In The Window, Neil was on it tonight two from the rockers to the tender moments, great drumming. I loved jumping up and down during Why Does It Always Rain On Me? and just totally rocking out to Selfish Jean. Such a wonderful night! Thanks to all four of the guys for this evening!
First time i met Fran in person :) my boyfriend and i were really excited.. me more since ive been a fan since like 1997 and have been building up that moment for over 10 years haha. Thanks for the tix fran and thanks for signing my book. oh and thanks for singing Falling down, man the vocals at the end of that song are amazing!
Jenny aka Myspace lol
PS: I liked how you all matched that night, you all dressed awesome and Dougies Coat Kicked ass! looked really good.
PS2: happy birthday Dougie, and i hope you all enjoy that mixed cd.
This was one of the Best shows because it was at such a small venue. It felt like a PRIVATE show for the TRUE TRAVIS FANS. But the absolute BEST show was when they opened up for OASIS at the UNIVERSAL AMPHETHEATRE back in 2001. I was so blown away with their music, that I became an instant fans since.
