In 1999, Travis achieved a breakthrough with their second album, “The Man Who.” Comprised of Fran Healy, Andy Dunlop, Neil Primrose, and Dougie Payne, they had steadily built a following since the ’90s. Despite initial success in the UK and touring with Oasis, international fame eluded them until “The Man Who.”
Their performance at the 1999 Glastonbury Festival, where they played “Why Does It Always Rain on Me?” during a downpour, was a turning point. The song became a hit, propelling the album to global acclaim and marking Travis as a prominent band of the late ’90s and early 2000s, culminating in them headlining Glastonbury the following year.
